Kira Zelda Lachlan

Personal Statement: Hello! I’m Kira (she/her), 30 years of age, and proudly goth. Born and raised in Edmonton, I moved to Spruce Grove in 2011 after living in Whitehorse for a year, and have lived here since. I’ve watched as the city has made triumphs and faced many challenges over the years, and I’m hoping to become a more active member of the local communities.

I like to play video games, and I fancy myself something of an artist. I’m a very extroverted person, and quite outspoken. I can be, as friends of mine have put it, ‘passionate’ about many things. I believe it’s time to finally channel that passion into something meaningful.

I’m not a politician though and I don’t know that I want to be. I’m here now because I feel a moral obligation to stand behind the party that represents my values so well. I can’t stomach the idea of gambling on the next person in line standing up for these same ideals. So I stand.

I fully, wholeheartedly believe in a better future, because I’m a hopeless optimist. I believe in the promise of what humanity can be; when a natural disaster hits and people run back into danger with no regard for their safety, just for the possibility of saving someone else, I see that promise made manifest. I stand for that belief now, and I will always stand for it.

I hope that you’ll see myself and my colleagues as a viable option to bring you the things you need; food, water, shelter, a guaranteed income, and adequate representation federally and locally. Thank you.
