The Policy

The RPC will legislate a ban in Canada on unethically created AI and refer all AI companies that may have used Canadian-copyrighted material for criminal investigation of copyright infringment, including financial compensation for victims.

The Research

Artificial Intellligence (AI), much like any other technology, is neither inherently good or bad. All of the AI platforms currently in use (e.g., LLMs like ChatGPT) were all made by theft (from unwitting and unwilling authors and artists) and so are inherently unethical.

Our Broader Stance on:

Access to reliable personal communications services, a free and accurate press, public domain research, and the high-speed Internet that powers them are each critical to the safety, stability, and growth of modern societies.
